Give The Gift of Pictures with Craftin Desert Divas

Hi and welcome, everyone! For today's CDD daily post I want to show you a fun way to combine three stamp sets and create a unique gift. Using Bitty Blessings, Capture The Good Times, and Picture That Stamp Sets I created this card with one thought in mind, the gift of pictures. As I sit here and write this post, I realize the many different ways this can be used.  Give a gift certificate to the local photography studio, gift a camera or a scrapbook. See, the possibilities?

I love using different stamp sets to create one card. I feel like I'm  getting my monies worth then.

I don't do a lot of no-line coloring, so I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to give it a go.
I like the look of it with this particular card. While this card is very fun and whimsical, the no-line coloring keeps the feel of the photo real, as real as it can. You could even take this a step further and add a background to the picture.

I use the Picture That Stamp Set for so many things. It's on my favorites list.

Shut The Front Door!

Hi, everyone! The mojo is slow coming these past few days, and I just wanted to create something, anything. Craftin Desert Divas Wishful Thoughts Stamp set has a sentiment, "Shut The Front Door".  I've been wanting to use it and wouldn't you know it, Simon Says Stamp sends me this amazing box of goodies with Make A Home Stamp and Die Set. Front Doors, what? So, as not to strain my brain, I kept this so simple and even though it's simple the possibilities are endless.

Don't we all love to get the most out of our stamps and money?

The End of The Journey of 70 Boots with SVG Attic

Hi and welcome, everyone!  Last year I was asked to create a few centerpieces for A Warriors On The Water Committee Dinner to be held at my parents home. So I created five of these fantastic JGW MY Hero 3D Combat Boots stuffed them with white shredded crinkle paper and inserted two American Flags. These five boots turned into 75 boots when I was asked to create 70 more for this year's Icebreaker held here at Sports, USA - Ft. Bragg, NC

Warriors On The Water is a Military Appreciation Bass Fishing Tournament. It's a day when 150+ Soldiers are paired with Bass Fishermen to spend a day fishing and a chance to win some fabulous prizes. Even more than that, it is a day that someone says to them..."Thank You for your sacrifices!".

The Icebreaker is held on the Wednesday night before the Friday Tournament. It's a night of fun for the Military Men and Women who attend as well as for our volunteers and fishermen. They expect over 400 people to be in attendance and will have guest speakers from the Military representing all branches whose troops are fishing the event.  The fishermen will be paired up with their Military counterparts and have a chance to talk strategy for the big tournament on Friday.
So this is where the 75 boots come into play. They are centerpieces for all the tables at the Warriors on the Water Icebreaker. WOW, literally! It was such an honor to make these boots knowing, personally, what our service members endure every day whether their home with loved ones or stationed/deployed around the world.
70 more boots! 71 in this photo. We made two extras, just in case.

4 - 8 hour days of cutting.

56 hours to assemble. 7 - 8 hour days.

One helper, my very own hero, my hubby!

Four boxes ready to go!

One of the first boots from the original post.

One of the original boots nearly a year later.

Wherever you see flags, there's a boot.

The boots were a huge hit! I think a few walked off, but that's okay, too.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know it's a bit long, but I feel worth every word.
And if you're ever in need of a boot, you know where to go, SVG Attic!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.
